Many of you know Josh and Kathy Wickham from the various theatre circles that they have lived in. Whether it is from SUNY Oswego, Syracuse Stage, or Florida State University, you know what a loving and generous family they have always been.
Unfortunately, on March 15th, 2022, their son Ian was tragically hit by a car while riding his scooter. He suffered a fracture in his jaw, contusions on his chest/lungs, some abrasions, but worst of all, a traumatic brain injury. The days directly following this horrific accident were very touch and go but thankfully Ian is a fighter and has pulled through.
On March 24th, he was transferred to a rehabilitation hospital in Jacksonville FL, a two-hour + drive from their family home. Due to his young age, either Josh or Kathy will have to be with him while he continues to recover. Due to the severity of his injuries, there is no definitive prognosis, but they think that his stay in Jacksonville will likely be 1 – 2 months. After he is discharged, they are looking at about a year of outpatient rehabilitative care. Due to the nature of his brain injury, this of course could all change.
As you can already guess, this not only puts a huge strain on the family (Josh and Kathy have two other school-age children at home) but also their finances as the costs associated with this are quite daunting. Thankfully they were both approved for some remote work but will no doubt need to take some unpaid family leave to stay with Ian from time to time.
Please consider donating to the Wickham Family to help them out during this incredibly stressful and frighting time. All money donated will help them out with the abundance of bills and costs associated with helping Ian to recover.
Thank You.
