Angie and Danny Whitt are friends of ours. On January 3, 2021, Danny and Angie were in the car with two of their children -- 12 year old Devin, and 4 year old Celena -- when they were hit head on by a drunk driver.
Danny took the brunt of the impact, and was extricated from the vehicle. All four of them were taken to the hospital. Danny required surgery on his leg, and the extensive damage will require additional surgeries. Devin was diagnosed with a skull fracture and several lacerations. Devin and Danny remain in the hospital at this time. Angie and 4 year old Celena both were badly bruised, and were treated and released. Celena is showing signs of being traumatized by the ordeal.
The young lady who hit them had a suspended license and no car insurance. She was taken into custody on multiple charges.
Danny is a welder, and will be out of work for an extended period of time while he recovers. Angie is a stay at home mom. Their only car was totaled. For now Angie and Celena are staying with Angie's sister so they can be close to the hospital. They will eventually need to get another car. While they do have some savings, there are always unexpected expenses that come along with hospitalizations, severe injuries, and extended time off work.
Please find it in your heart to help this wonderful family as they recover from this horrible wreck. They need to take care of healing without the stress of expenses piling up.
