Support the White Family After Devastating Hurricanes

Donation protected
On September 26, 2024 my big sister, brother in law, nephews & niece experienced a once in one hundred year hurricane in St Pete Beach Florida. Helene was a catastrophic historical event, completely destroying their home, stealing so many precious possessions & totaling their family vehicle. They watched, & updated our family hourly, as water began to enter their home… It was truly awful. To make matters worse, they had just completed an extensive 3yr remodel & had only been back in their house for about 6 months. & now they were completely displaced. They lost power for 6 days, which made working to get the wet drywall removed, incredibly difficult. Not to mention, hot. My brother in law, Jason, did the demo on his own ~ as they have no family in Florida. It was gutting, to know they needed help & we were all so far away, across the country. Then, they watched in horror as the news reported another hurricane was due to hit. History was being made. Milton made landfall 13 days later. They couldn’t evacuate & rode that storm out in a condo a friend lent to them, close to home. My sister said she crawled on all 4’s, crying, as winds reached 105mph. They knew they would be safe, but I’m told it was a life changing event. The next day, they went home to assess the newest damage. It beyond heartbreaking what they discovered. It was another 6 days before they power & 10 days before they had water. They’ve lost so much, in such a short amount of time. To add to their heartache, two nights after Milton, my nephew was in an accident. He is okay, thank God. But they quickly went from 3 cars, to one. They have to completely rebuild the interior of their home, build back their yard & replace so much. (all their kitchen appliances, cabinets, flooring, toilets, bathroom vanities. drywall & all that comes with that. paint. everything that was in their garage; bikes, tools, a fridge to feed those growing teens. their outdoor kitchen disappeared. their pool has to be repaired. the list truly goes on & on)

If you are reading this, chances are, you know them well. Or know of them. Jason has likely coached your son or daughter, impacting their life. It’s his passion. Carissa has likely opened up her home to you, your family or someone you know. They’ve been known to help, anyway they can, no questions asked. I’ve watched as they’ve housed families in their guest house, never wanting in return. I’ve watched them buy groceries for teammates. I’ve seen my sister buy clothes & shoes for the youth. They have always loved to host parties & make meals for those they love. They give & give, always trusting the Lord to take care of them.

My hope, is to show up for them through a season of giving. They do have flood insurance, but it’s taking too long to see any relief. & FEMA is proving to be a challenge. Jason continues to be self employed, & with real estate being so tough, it’s been tight.

Simply said, my sister & her family, need us to come alongside.
Please consider donating what you can, to help them as they start over in this season. Your donation will help the Whites get a trailer to live in, on the driveway, while they put their home back together.
