Kick Grantaconda’s Ass: Survive the Great Arts Drought

First, y’all helped us Kick SneauxZilla’s ass.

You kept the pipes from freezin’, the mini-splits hummin’, the doors open, and the music spillin’ out into the night air. And because we exceeded our goal, we’ve been able to dream a little bigger.

Coming soon: a curated Whirlybird Wine Bar—complete with a proper professional cooler—and new outdoor speakers for the screen porch, the firepit, the Tower Studio porch, and Mig’s bandstand, which is now officially our new outdoor dance floor.

But now… we’re facin’ a different kind of threat.

One that’s been coiled around the creative world for a long time, but lately? It’s squeezin’ tighter than ever.

We’re talkin’ about The Grantaconda—a giant bureaucratic constrictor wrappin’ itself around every artist, culture bearer, and nonprofit still standin’.

It don’t bite.
It suffocates—with deadlines, forms, spreadsheets, and a system drier than a crawfish pond in August.

And here’s the real kicker:
Every arts and culture group we love is now havin’ to fight each other for fewer and fewer dollars.
The pot’s shrinkin’, and the competitive atmosphere is gettin’ tense.

But we ain’t sittin’ still.

Right now, we’ve got three major grant applications in the works:
• Two for the Blown Away on the Bayou Blues & Harmonica Summit
• One for a brand-new Creole Music & Culture Summit

Yeah you right.

But even just applying takes time, help, and resources.
There’s no guarantee we’ll win the grants—but we can’t afford not to try.
Here’s where Y'all come in:

This campaign is now a long-term lifeline.
Your support helps us:
• Hire the help we need to get these applications in on time
• Keep our core programs alive and growing
• Keep The Whirlybird open as a creative sanctuary in the middle of the drought

We’re not askin’ for a bailout. We’re askin’ for backup.

Every dollar helps loosen the grip. Every share helps tell the story.

Let’s Kick Grantaconda’s Ass—together.
