Support the Westrich Family after a house fire

My name is Kara Lehman, the family and I have set up this page to help my sister and her family of 5 recover from a devastating house fire that destroyed part of their home.
My sister Marit, her husband Erich, and my nieces Emily (8), and the twins Klara and Anika (6) have had a rough year. Just last month they had to say goodbye to their beloved dog followed by their cat just a day later. And now the unthinkable has happened.
Shortly before 1:00 p.m. on 11/30/20 firefighters responded to calls of smoke coming from their home in Sioux City, Iowa. All five family members are safe and were not home at the time of the fire. The remaining family pets are also safe. The fire caused extensive damage to the main floor of their home, but the true extent of the damage has yet to be determined. News reports are saying that the fire was contained to the kitchen side of the home and the attic. The home has been red-tagged and the family has not been allowed back inside, rendering them homeless.
We’ve been asked how people can help the family during this devastating time. Collecting goods and other items in the middle of a pandemic can be complicating, so we thought a campaign on this platform is the safest and most efficient option. The family can use the money to cover living expenses, help with the restoration of their home, replace some of their lost belongings, or to help make the upcoming holiday season a little more cheerful for the girls.
Our hearts break for them. This year has been challenging enough and to imagine them now facing this is unfathomable. We cannot imagine the feeling of displacement they are going through.
