Be part of Brooklynn's fearless fight

Hi everyone! My name is Darby and I am writing this on behalf of my niece, Brooklynn Wells, and her entire family. On July 9th, Brooklynn was severely injured in a lawnmower accident. Khyri was cutting the grass for his in-laws while Brooklynn was picking grapes off of the grapevine. When Khyri came around the vine, Brooklynn moved a different way to get out of the way, ended up tripping and her foot went under the mower. Miranda and Khyri were fast acting to get emergency services on the way as soon as possible and to stop as much bleeding as they could. Due to the weather, the Medivac helicopter was not able to take her to Childrens in DC and she was taken to NeMours Children's Hospital, which is a pediatric trauma center in Delaware.
Brooklynn is stable and is trying to stay in the best spirits possible but all of the love and prayers are needed at this time. She is undergoing blood transfusions and is being taken care of by the best staff. As of this moment, the doctors have determined that the best route we need to go is to amputate. This will leave a long road of recovery, physical therapy, healing, appointments and eventually learning to walk again with a prosthetic. Brooklynn is a strong fearless little girl that is going to need her village to help remind her of that and support her through this process.
She was flown out and is currently under medical care at Nemour's Children Hospital, just over 3 hours from Southern Maryland. She is currently scheduled to have surgery on Monday, July 14th. There are still many unknowns but Brooklynn has a long road to recovery ahead of her and the family needs as much support as possible. Miranda and Khyri are the super hero parents that are making sure she is never left and is receiving the best care.
Khyri has not left Brooklynn's side and does not plan to. Miranda is juggling taking care of Autumn and KJ and also driving back and forth daily to the hospital which is a lengthy 3 hour drive from Southern Maryland, the cost of gas alone is already quickly adding up.
There is an urgent need for funds for the family. There is a huge list of costs that Miranda and Khyri are currently accumulating including leave without pay from work, medical bills that are growing daily as Brooklynn recovers, transportation costs of the just over 3 hours drive back and forth to the hospital and so much more. Not to mention all of the future costs of medical appointments, transportation up and down the road for therapies, the cost of prosthetics, and so much more. ANY and all help would be greatly appreciated to support their entire family during this time.
Brooklynn could use as much love and support as possible right now. Brooklynn would LOVE to receive handmade cards, pictures and anything made from the heart to the following address, family will make sure that they all make it to her.
