Dear friends,

If you know me, then you may know Sophia’s story. Born with a heart defect in 2009, she received a heart transplant as an infant and has been a fighter ever since. Her family has been on a long journey by her side, and with unimaginable sorrow, that journey is coming to an end. Sophia’s life has been a miracle, but her heart is now giving out, and the doctors have given an estimate of months left.

Because her mother, Benita, is the bread-winner and self-employed, we are looking for another miracle: for Benita to take time off work without having to worry about money, since if she doesn’t work, she doesn’t earn. The Weems family should be able to make memories and arrangements without the stress of financial burden.
