Hi everyone, any help that you can provide to the Weber family at this time is greatly appreciated and very needed.
Marcus is a disabled veteran, a wonderful husband and son, and an amazing father to five sons who need him to stick around for a long time. We've included details on his health journey this last month further below, but to summarize, Marcus unexpectedly had dire medical issues that nearly shut down all of his organs and nearly took his life in early October. He has been in critical condition for over a month and is now, miraculously, showing great progress. The family hopes to have him home by Thanksgiving but the journey is far from over. Your prayers and financial contributions can help alleviate his medical expenses and the family's expenses during this difficult time.
The Details:
Marcus went into the emergency room on October 2nd for shortness of breath. When he got there he was registering a pulse ox in the 80s. He was immediately put on oxygen and they started blood work and X-rays along with a CT scan. It all showed a massive infection in his lungs along with heart failure. They went in to do a culture of his lungs and in the middle of they procedure his oxygen plummeted. They immediately halted the procedure and transferred him to the ICU. He was there for a day when his kidneys completely shut down and his liver started to shut down. We were told he was not looking good and if he had any chance to survive he had to be put on ecmo life support at a different hospital. Within hours they had him care flighted to another hospital where they started ecmo and dialysis that night. He was put into a medically induced coma and was also on a ventilator at this time. After a few days of ecmo he was then given a tracheostomy. He was on ecmo for 12 days before taken off due to his lungs healing enough to be taken off life support. On the 27th (his birthday) he woke up completely for the first time and was told everything that has happened. He has continued to make progress and on November 5th he was transferred to an Ltach facility. Since then he is still on dialysis and they are monitoring his lungs, heart and kidneys to make sure he has no further set backs. In that time we have accumulated massive medical bills they are estimating with insurance in the 30,000k mark as of now. He still has a long road ahead of him and we are hoping for the best.
