On Saturday, August 30th, our beloved teacher, Mrs. Cerita Warren (née Miller), and her husband of 44 years, Mr. Ayon Warren, returned home from church to an unthinkable sight — their family home of 39 years engulfed in flames.

For decades, the Warrens have been pillars of the Port Antonio community — the kind of couple every neighborhood is blessed to have: kind, giving, and always ready to serve. Their home was more than a dwelling; it was a place of love, mentorship, and support for all who entered.

Mrs. Warren, a dedicated science teacher at Titchfield High School for over 40 years, shaped generations of students with her knowledge, discipline, and compassion. She wasn’t just a teacher — she was a mentor, a mother figure, and a lifelong source of encouragement. Many of her students credit her with inspiring their success long after leaving the classroom.

Mr. Warren, himself a former teacher and long-time technician at Courts Jamaica Limited, has always been a quiet helper — repairing electronics, fixing small appliances, and extending a hand to anyone in need. His generosity and skill earned the respect and gratitude of everyone around him.

Together, the Warrens have faithfully served at the Port Antonio Seventh-day Adventist Church, giving their time and talents in ministry and community outreach. Their lives have been defined by service — to God, to education, and to others. But now, they are the ones in need.

The tragic fire on August 30, 2025, consumed not only most of their home but also the rental apartments on their property — their main source of income in retirement. In a matter of hours, they lost everything they had worked a lifetime to build: their home, their livelihood, their belongings, their cherished memories, and their peace of mind.

As retirees, starting over feels nearly impossible. But we can help them rise again.

This is our chance — as former students, friends, and community members — to give back to two people who have given so much of themselves to others. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward rebuilding their home and helping them regain stability and comfort.

Let’s come together to show the Warrens that their decades of kindness and selfless service have not been forgotten. Let’s help them rebuild — not just walls and a roof, but the hope and warmth of a true home.
