My name is Greg Blondin and I have known the Walsh family for several years. Their store, Ten West Market has been a second home for so many in Holden, Rutland , Jefferson, Paxton, Worcester and beyond which is why this loss is so heartbreaking. On December 30th, the Walsh family’s beloved store was severely damaged in a devastating fire leaving them with an uncertain future. This fundraiser is for Darlene, Tom, Matt and Justin Walsh, the family behind Ten West Market, along with their loyal employees who treated every customer like family and welcomed anyone who walked through the door. Ten West began in 2015 as Darlene’s dream of a home-style food store in Worcester where the family first operated inside City Mart in Tatnuck Square before later taking over Ten West Market in Paxton and spending eight years building a true family-run establishment where people could call home share a meal and feel like part of the family. When the opportunity came to move into the larger building in Holden, the former Howe’s Farm, they rebuilt the inside from the floors to the plumbing and electrical to create a warm welcoming 2,000-square-foot home for their growing community where Darlene hoped to retire while Matt and Justin carried on the legacy with their dedicated employees by their side. The fire has taken away not just a building but a livelihood, a retirement plan, and a gathering place that meant so much to so many folks. Your donation will help the Walsh family cover immediate needs such as housing costs, living expenses, and support for their employees as they work to rebuild their lives and hopefully their business. Your support, whether through donating or sharing this page, will help the community that they always cared for so deeply now rally around them in their time of greatest need.
