Help the Vogel Family as Sophia Fights Leukemia
Two weeks ago, sweet 3-year-old Sophia’s neck suddenly swelled up. After various appointments and tests, doctors diagnosed Sophia with Acute T-cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia, an aggressive, fast-growing blood cancer originating in the bone marrow.
Sophia will need to undergo 2–3 years of intensive treatment, which will include:
• Systemic chemotherapy (through her veins)
• Intrathecal chemotherapy (injected into her spinal fluid)
• Bone marrow aspiration procedures
• Possible bone marrow transplant if her body doesn’t respond as hoped
She is already facing more in her little body than most of us face in a lifetime.
Sophia is an adorable, bright, and loving little girl. She adores plants, princesses, story time, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Frozen. She loves playing with her big sister and is always trying to help take care of her brand-new baby brother. Despite the fear and discomfort, her smile and determination continue to inspire everyone around her.
Her parents, Spencer and Libby, are doing everything they can to stay strong for their family. Spencer is in the middle of a demanding pediatrics residency, often working up to 80 hours a week.
Their family is going through so much; this is one burden we can lighten. We are asking for your help to lift their financial burden so they can focus on what matters most: helping Sophia fight and heal.
Your donations will go toward:
• Medical bills and hospital stays
• Travel to and from treatment centers
• Everyday living costs while Sophia is in and out of the hospital
• Helping build a happy environment for Sophia as she goes through treatment
• Giving Sophia’s family a little room to breathe in an unimaginably difficult time
Even a small donation makes a difference. If you can’t give financially, please consider sharing Sophia’s GoFundMe with others and keeping her in your prayers!
Together, we can surround this family with the love and support they need. Thank you for helping Sophia in her fight.
