As many of you know, Matthew Vinsons's family has recently been suffering through a very difficult time. The Vinson's infant son, Myles, has been diagnosed with a severe  health condition. Matthew and his wife, Heather, have been in the hospital for weeks at a time with Myles over the last few months. After numerous tests and emergency hospital visits, the VCU doctors believe they have a diagnosis and potential cure for Myles's condition.

While this is hopeful news, the road ahead for the Vinson family is still long and daunting. The potential treatment will involve an initial hospital stay of more than a month, along with an invasive and intensive treatment regime. Our prayers are that Myles will respond well, and that by this time next year he will be a happy and healthy toddler.

Everyone who I've sent this to knows Matthew personally. He is one of the kindest, most generous people that most of us will ever know, and his committed and loving approach as a father and husband is an inspiration to me in my own life. While most of us do not know Matthew's family personally, his wife and five children are his world. All of them are going through an unimaginably difficult time right now, and I hope that together we can show them our support.
