2025 has been the most painful and overwhelming year our family has ever experienced. On December 28th, we lost our dad, Alfonso Sr. 11 months after losing our oldest brother, Alfonso Jr. Losing my brother broke our hearts and placed a heavy emotional and financial burden on our family. With the help of this platform and your generous and supportive hearts, we were able to lay him to rest, and today, with broken hearts once again, we are asking for that support.

My dad fought cancer for eight long, exhausting years. He was diagnosed at stage four and continued to fight with incredible strength and determination, overcoming the odds time and time again. Sadly, an unexpected infection took its toll and eventually, his life. Up until the day before he passed, doctors could not find anything wrong. The infection caused his body to go into shock, and after so many years of fighting, he no longer had the strength for another battle.

We take comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace and no longer in pain.

Beyond his illness, my dad was an extraordinary father. As a father of ten, he dedicated his life to providing for and loving his family. Even when his health no longer allowed him to work, he never stopped worrying about us. Because of his cancer diagnosis, he was unable to receive his full pension and often struggled to make ends meet, but he faced everything with his own kind of quiet strength.

As his family, we did everything we could to support him. Now we are faced with the heartbreaking task of laying him to his final rest.
