Hello, my name is Amy Nicholls and I am fundraising for my growing business, The Village Psychic Studio.

I just took a big step of renting a beautiful space in the Village of Manotick.

It is my studio space where I see clients for in depth Psychic Medium readings, Reiki healing, and where I make fine art and award winning jewelry.

I have already completed some renovations and am currently painting and furnishing the building. In the process, I have been seeing my wonderful clients.

Thankfully, most of you have been here with me from the start and know just how far The Village Psychic has come.

I am rebranding from Resilient Mommyhood (Click Here). A name that developed 7 years ago, from my humble beginnings of making jewelry at my kitchen table late at night while my toddler slept (in 4 hour intervals!).

I grew my business as a single Mother, something I never thought was possible at the time. I faced a lot of stress and uncertainty through the years, but I still pushed on.

I really had to put myself out there, and find ways to be innovative during the pandemic. It was scary and uncomfortable, but never once did I give up.

Every year it got a little bit better. My client list started to grow, and it became possible to take courses I could afford.

Even at times life became too unpredictable and I thought I should just give up, an opportunity came along and confirmed I could make something of this.

7 years later, I am still growing.

I am grateful for every moment! But now I need some support.

In order to keep up with this momentum, I need to operate at full capacity.

I understand that growth and development will come in time, but that feels much slower when it is just me and every job is mine to complete. There are certain tools and equipment I need to secure to help get me through the first phase.

I have been renting spaces in other businesses, which I have been incredibly grateful for. It gave me a safe space to work and a real chance to grow my brand.

When another opportunity passed me by for a commercial space to work earlier this year, the building on Tighe Street became available, and I had to follow my own advise and act on it!

This is my first independent space, and it is a really big deal.

The growth and success of The Village Psychic is so important to me because not only is it created out of love and genuinely following my life purpose; it is also my livelihood.

Any support received would provide a level of financial security I have never experienced. It would allow me to focus on serving my community, allow for collaboration with fellow businesses, buy the equipment I need for innovation, and work on projects I have yet to focus on.

My business that started out of survival, is now fully ready to thrive!

While I do have most things I need to run my business. There are items that if purchased, would bring it up to par with the extra volume. I have tried the route of going through banks, applying for government grant, and even contests. It comes as no surprise that a single mother, with a small business and still recovering from financial challenges is not necessarily seen as a first choice investment for institutions that do not take risks.

Under the sage advice of another successful business owner, I have decided to put myself out there once more, and take a chance on crowd funding to bring The Village Psychic back to the starting line.

With these big items secured, I would open up so much time to create more social media content, YouTube videos, and focus on creating.

My Studio space offers room for classes, workshops, and group readings. If I can finish battling the neglected back yard, I plan to create an oasis where people can relax, take a yoga class from talented local Yoga Instructors, or even just meet up and enjoy the outside.
