The Victor M. Velazquez Math Scholarship was established to honor the legacy of Victor and his unwavering commitment to education. After relocating to the United States in 1997, Victor passionately pursued his dream of teaching. He earned two master’s degrees in education from DePaul University, along with multiple teaching and administrative certifications. Victor dedicated his career to the Chicago Public Schools, where he notably served as a bilingual math teacher at Marie Sklodowska Curie Metropolitan High School.

In recognition of his incredible impact, Victor's family created this scholarship to support individuals who embody the same determination, character, and resilience that defined Victor’s life and career. By investing in the future of these promising students, the scholarship aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders in education.
