Shannon is organizing this fundraiser for family friends Adam and Jane Vertz, along with Payton’s older sister, Janice Echlin, as they grieve the devastating loss of 16-year-old Payton Vertz. No parent or sibling should ever have to endure this kind of heartbreak. Payton's body was recovered on October 16th, a police investigation is ongoing and two suspects are in custody. His young life was tragically taken, leaving Adam, Jane, Janice, and all who loved him facing unimaginable sorrow. Payton’s loss has deeply impacted not only his family, but also friends and the wider community who are mourning a life taken far too soon. While we grieve the loss of Payton, we find comfort and peace in knowing that he is in Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Though our hearts are broken, we are thankful for the blessed hope of seeing him again one day.
