On September 12, 2026, Verna Mae Verdin, Letha Verret, and Paul Verret were tragically and fatally attacked in their home. Letha’s 6-year-old grandson was also attacked. Despite his injuries, he was able to escape and get help. He is currently in critical condition at a local hospital, where he continues to fight for his life. This devastating tragedy has left the Verret family facing an unimaginable amount of grief, uncertainty, and hardship. The loss is especially profound for Letha’s minor children, who are now having to cope with the sudden loss of their mother, grandmother, and uncle all at once.
