Hi everyone! My name is Nikki, our neighbors at the Urban Cultural Arts Center have just gone through a great loss due to fire and smoke damage in their building. They have given so much to their community and I'm hoping as a community we can come together to give back for their unfortunate loss ...this isn't just their loss but a loss to the community as well.
Urban Cultural Arts & Event Center has long been a creative home for youth, families, and artists in our community. It’s a place where young people explore their creativity, where art is accessible to everyone, and where the community comes together through classes, performances, and shared experiences.
Recently, the building that houses Urban Cultural Arts experienced an electrical fire, causing significant damage and forcing the organization to temporarily close its doors.
While we are incredibly grateful that no one was hurt, the loss of the space is deeply felt. For many young people and families, Urban Cultural Arts is more than a building — it is a safe, welcoming place to learn, create, and belong.
Right now, the organization is working quickly to:
• Stabilize and assess the damage
• Replace lost equipment and materials
• Secure a new temporary or permanent space so programs can continue
• Ensure youth programming and community events can resume as soon as possible
