Support the Up & Up Crew

Hello friends,

I’m Chaim Dauermann, Front of House manager for The Up & Up, in NYC. Coronavirus has put almost an entire industry out of work in a matter of days. Apart from the very practical concerns related to how a business can be kept intact during an indefinite closure are the very urgent concerns of how the employees of that business stay financially whole while they are not drawing a paycheck. As a small business selling a specialty product, The Up & Up’s resources are extremely modest. While unemployment insurance and stimulus funds from the government can help ease some of the burden, I think we all know it’ll not wind up making up for all of the income lost for our bartenders, barbacks, and hosts. 

People have asked how they can help the team. I’msetting up this fund specifically to provide much-needed financial assistance to the staff of The Up & Up. None of the funds raised are designated for me, or for the bar’s ownership. All monies collected will be divided evenly with our bar’s small, dedicated, and tight-knit crew to help get them through this disaster of a time, to a hopefully-near future that sees The Up & Up reopened, with NYC once again ready to do business.
