The Tyo family would like to give our son, Dakota Moon Tyo, the memorial he deserves to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. As many of you may have known, Dakota had epilepsy with infrequent seizures and unfortunately on Thursday morning 8/15/24 he had a seizure that resulted with severe trauma to his head which we can only hope took his life immediately with no suffering. We found him Friday morning 8/16 when his father, younger sister and myself (mom) went to go check on him as he was not answering or responding to any of our calls or texts. This was something I always feared due to his epilepsy but never expected this to happen to him at such a young age. Dakota was only 27 years old. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of a benefit memorial farewell show for his family and his overwhelming community of friends to come share stories of Dakota and celebrate his life and all that he did and gave to others while he was with us. We are also wanting to raise funds to help his roommate and best friend Justin, with living expenses until he can make other living arrangements. Any funds raised above these two needs, we will be donating to a few charities in Dakota's honor such as the Epilepsy Foundation, the Palestinian Release Effort Mission, and one of the LGBTQIA2S+ organizations as these were all causes he was very passionate about.
We would like to raise around $5,000 to achieve these goals and any amount of money you are able to donate and or sharing of this request would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to all who knew and loved my son and helping us through this traumatic experience. Your donations are greatly appreciated.
