The Turkish Literature in Translation Reading Group is a non-profit literary platform that brings together readers, translators, and enthusiasts of Turkish literature and culture. Launched by Ipek Sahinler in 2020, our events are virtual, free, open to all, and conducted entirely in English.
We welcome participants from all walks of life who share a curiosity about Turkish literature and its many connections to the world. Since our founding, we’ve hosted over 1400 participants from countries including Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Turkey, Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, and Spain—each bringing unique experiences and perspectives to our conversations.
We love this community and are deeply committed to keeping it alive. To continue offering engaging discussions and supporting our guest speakers, we kindly ask for your help covering guest speaker honorarium costs, editorial expenses and website maintenance fees.
