Support the Tucci's: Rebuild Laurens Together

On September 26, Hurricane Helene made landfall, leaving a path of destruction from heavy rain and flooding to mass destruction. We are reaching out because our dear friends, Tommy and Vanessa Tucci along with their community have suffered tremendous damage from Helene. The Tucci's are facing a critical challenge to help themselves and their community rebuild, cleanup and thrive again as the beautiful community of Laurens SC. They were lucky enough to not lose their house, just a bunch of big trees. Along with no power for 6 days! Others weren't so lucky. We have heard stories from V that are absolutely heart wrenching. One lady was trying to reach 911 to get Red Cross to come save them, but no one came. She lost her six year old daughter and both of her parents. Today she told us that her co-worker (who makes $12 an hour) had a tree fall and total her mobile home. On top of that she has four kids and a husband recovering from brain cancer to provide for.

Anyone who has met Vanessa knows what a kind, kind person she is. The Tucci's are genuinely amazing people. When they were living in Vanessa's beloved Tempe, AZ they were pillars of their community. Vanessa was always giving back and now we need to give back to the Tucci's and Laurens SC. We are raising money for immediate emergency relief and a long-term recovery. Time is of the essence. Ohh, and please don't tell them as this is a surprise. They also probably would tell us not to do this because they are helpers and givers who do not ask for help. But they will very much enjoy giving what we've raised to their friends and community who are in need. After they use what they need to repair their property of course.
