On Monday, June 29th, our little corner of Northern Michigan experienced a catastrophic storm. Nearly 7 inches of rain fell in a very short period of time, causing historic flash flooding throughout Good Hart and Middle Village.

The flooding washed out sections of M-119 (the Tunnel of Trees) both north and south of Trillium Woods, leaving our coffee shop inaccessible to guests. Landslides and road washouts have caused extensive damage throughout our community, and many of our neighbors have suffered major damage to their homes.

Because both roads leading to the shop are closed, we have made the heartbreaking decision to close Trillium Woods for the foreseeable future.

Our team counted on this seasonal work for their income, and this unexpected disaster has left them without the remainder of their summer wages. Every dollar raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward helping our team bridge this difficult time as they make plans for what's next.

As owners, Phillip and I are also navigating the sudden loss of our business's busiest months while caring for our beautiful three-week-old baby. Like so many others in our community, we're doing our best to take one day at a time while figuring out how to move forward.
