Aloha, I’m Olivia, asking for support for my closest friends, the Trein ‘Ohana. Zach, Zoe, and their two young keiki are a family that consistently pours into their community. During the recent floods on the North Shore of O’ahu, Zach and Zoe spent days and nights clearing the only working drain that prevented flooding on their street in Waialua. When larger floodwaters came and the drain was overwhelmed, the evacuation shelter was bolted shut. Zach and Zoe were told to use bolt cutters by emergency response, and they were able to open the site for everyone who had to evacuate. If you know this family, you know they’d give you the shirt off their backs, and a meal to go with it.
The Trein home was impacted by the floods. They’ve lost essential belongings including appliances and equipment, and face significant repairs to restore their home. They’ve been working tirelessly to clear toxic runoff from their property and have made countless trips to the dump with what was destroyed. The damage feels endless. Even in the midst of their own losses, Zach and Zoe continue to show up for friends and neighbors through the flood recovery.
Donations will help cover essential costs for the Trein ‘Ohana while they work to restore their home. Your support will allow them to focus on recovery and stability for their family.
If you’re able to give, mahalo nui. This is a family will steward every bit of support well, and continue to pour back in to the community as they always have. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is deeply appreciated. Please keep the Trein ‘Ohana, and all of the North Shore, in your thoughts and prayers as we work to restore this incredibly special place.
