3 Sessions Accepted. Help Us Get There.
My name is Dr. Sherry Congrave Wilson, Founder and Executive Director of The Town Project (TTP) — a nonprofit committed to restorative justice, racial equity, trauma-informed practices, and healing-centered school transformation.
We are honored — and still a little stunned — to share that 3 out of 4 of our session proposals were accepted for the 2026 National Association of Community & Restorative Justice Conference.
This year, NACRJ reviewed 400 proposals for only 189 presentation slots.
Three of ours were selected.
That is not ordinary.
That is a recognition of the depth, innovation, and impact of our work.
Our accepted sessions include:
• Circles of Allyship: Protecting BIPOC Communities through Restorative Dialogue in Polarized Times
• From Training to Transformation: Sustaining Restorative Practice Through Distributed Leadership
• He Aho Tapu (The Sacred Thread): Weaving Māori Culture, Language, and Leadership into Restorative Practice
This conference brings together Restorative Justice practitioners, educators, researchers, organizers, and leaders from across the country — and increasingly, across the globe.
Being invited to present three sessions means our work is resonating nationally.
Now we need help getting there!
Why We’re Fundraising...
To attend and present, our team must cover:
• Conference registration fees
• Flights
• Hotel accommodations
• Transportation
The total cost for our team is significant — especially in a year when school contracts have been reduced and funding for restorative justice work remains unstable.
We are doing everything we can internally.
But we need community support.
Why This Matters
Presenting at NACRJ is not just about visibility.
It is about:
• Sharing tools that protect BIPOC communities in polarized times
• Bridging Indigenous knowledge and global restorative frameworks
• Expanding access to culturally grounded restorative practice
This opportunity allows us to:
• Build national partnerships
• Share research and field-tested practices
• Bring back new knowledge to the communities we serve
• Position our team for future collaboration
This is a pivotal moment.
How You Can Help
If you believe in:
• Restorative justice in schools
• Protecting communities through dialogue
• Distributed leadership over hierarchy
• Culturally grounded approaches to justice
Please consider contributing.
Every donation helps cover travel, lodging, and registration costs for our presenters.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign is deeply appreciated.
We are honored.
We are ready.
We simply need help getting there.
Thank you for investing in this work.
For almost three years, TTP has supported school communities and organizations across California in shifting away from punitive systems and building restorative, relational, trauma-informed cultures. Our work is grounded, rigorous, and deeply human — and the impact has been profound.
Thank you in advance for supporting our work!
With gratitude,
Dr. Sherry
