On January 27, 2026, the Torrey family experienced a devastating house fire that has turned their world upside down. While we are incredibly grateful that everyone is safe—with only minor injuries—the road ahead will be long, both practically and emotionally.
This family is the definition of love and generosity. They are parents to seven amazing children, and they are always the first to show up when someone else is in need. Whether it’s offering help, opening their home, or giving without hesitation, they live their lives serving others. Now, it’s our turn to show up for them.
The fire has left them needing immediate support, including clothing, food, toiletries, and basic home essentials, as they work to rebuild and find stability again.

We are accepting clothing donations for the family in the following sizes. Donations can be dropped off at the Welcome desk at Birmingham First Methodist Church during business hours.

Pajamas and shoes are especially needed. We are all set on winter coats and gloves/hats. We will keep updating this as donations come in.
