Support the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers
Yorktown for Justice and Somers Families for Social Justice would like to bring the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers to Yorktown's annual street fair on October 10. At the Yorktown Street Fair, we will host a booth where we will run a half-hour long program which includes dancers from Thunderbird American Indian Dancers, which is the oldest Native American dance company in New York. They work to preserve and perpetuate American Indian culture. We also will have a 15 minute specialty performance slot on the main stage. We need to raise $750 for Thunderbird's dancers, and $250 for the application and insurance fees. In total, $1,000 is the minimum estimate we would need to host this event. Let's show some love and support to this wonderful group in honor of Indigenous Peoples Day.
