Support the Thornburg Family Devastated by Flash Floods
Donation protected
As many of you have seen on the news, the towns of Triadelphia, Valley Grove, and the City of Wheeling were devastated on Saturday, June 14th by catastrophic flash floods. My father, stepmother, and stepsister were one of the families completely devastated. They quite literally lost everything, including their home. Their home on Route 40 in Triadelphia was swept away in the floods.
It's hard to put into words what this means for them moving forward, and asking for help is not easy. Our family has come together to help them, but there's so much more they will need help with. What matters most is that they're safe. In the coming weeks and months, they will begin rebuilding, and they will need all the help they can get.
For those of you who know my dad, you know that he is a ray of sunshine to everyone he encounters. You can lean on him to make you laugh, tell an amazing story, and belt out your favorite 80s tune. My dad has been a part of the Dollar Tree family for almost 10 years now and enjoys helping customers each and every day. Prior to that, he had a 25 year management career at Olgebay Park. His background is in musical performance, and that is what's hitting him the hardest now. He has lost all of his memories, including his piano, guitars, sound equipment, and songs he's recorded over the years.
For those of you who know my stepmother, April, you know that she is an unbelievably hard worker. Anything you need, she is there to help. Whether it's a ride to an appointment or setting up a wedding for her stepdaughters, she is the quintessential caretaker, from caring for her grandmother to helping her mother.
For those of you who know Laney, you know that she is an amazingly talented softball player. Her talent shines through in every position she plays, especially pitching. She loves her family and has the kindest soul.
These are just snippets of their stories, but they're my people.
Anything will help in assisting them in rebuilding their life after the flooding.
