Hope & Healing: Supporting Techi & Joey's Family

Donation protected
My name is Steve, and I am reaching out for your support in a great time of need. We are rallying together to raise funds and assist my brother and sister-in-law, Joey and Techi, along with their wonderful family as they confront a challenging and frightening journey. This journey started when Techi began experiencing four weeks of debilitating migraines, followed by significant memory loss, difficulty walking, and speaking. These troubling symptoms led to an urgent trip to the emergency room.

On October 3rd, an MRI revealed a daunting reality - a 4cm mass near the thalamus, a critical region of the brain, which was also blocking spinal fluid. The mass's location makes it inoperable, and at the time, Techi was 32 weeks pregnant with their fifth child, their first girl.

In a race against time, an external drain was swiftly inserted, followed by surgery to install a shunt, allowing for the drainage of spinal fluid. This procedure took place at the University of Washington Medical Center Montlake and was a success, alleviating the pressure and relieving Techi's symptoms. She was then sent home to recover, all the while, her medical team worked tirelessly to determine the next steps. Techi was prescribed different medications to aid in the faster development of the baby's lungs, reduce brain inflammation, and prevent seizures.

On October 16th, labor was induced, and a healthy and beautiful baby girl was welcomed into the world on the following day, weighing 5lbs.6oz. The baby girl is doing wonderfully, but the battle for Techi - and the looming financial burdens on their family - has only just begun.

A second MRI on October 18th brought disheartening news. The mass had grown by 1cm, indicating an aggressive and likely malignant condition. In the coming week, Techi and Joey will be meeting with a neurosurgeon to discuss the potential risks of a biopsy, given the challenging location, and they will also consult with an oncology team to explore the possibility of chemotherapy and treatment.

The funds we raise will provide crucial support for the overwhelming medical expenses that lie ahead for this family. Your donations will make a profound difference. Please also join us in prayer for Techi's healing, strength for her and her family, wisdom for the medical teams, and comfort for their five beautiful children. Your generosity and prayers are deeply appreciated as we stand together int his challenging journey.
