Support the Tariq Family in Their Time of Loss

On Dec 28th, the Tariq family was faced with the sudden and heartbreaking loss of their youngest son and brother, Maaz Tariq Sultan. He was only 21 years old. He worked hard for his family, was involved in his Islamic community, and had such a pure heart. His selfless nature touched the hearts of everyone around him.

Though he has since been laid to rest, the family’s friends have come together to request support. All funds will go directly to the family, primarily to help assist them in providing continuous Sadaqah Jariyah for Maaz.

What is Sadaqah Jariyah?

Sadaqah Jariyah is a type of charity that can be given on behalf of the deceased, and it is encouraged in Islam. The term translates to

"lowing" or "running" charity, and it is a way to provide ongoing benefit to recipients and the giver, even if they are no longer with us.

Whoever leaves a beneficial legacy for humanity is deemed to continue to be rewarded for it even after their death.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated: “When a human being dies, all one's deeds cease, except three: a Sadaqah Jariyah, [religious] knowledge [one leaves behind] from which others benefit, and a righteous child who prays for one.”
