Our Project

The Table Between Us is a tense family drama short film that tackles topics of identity, sexuality, and loyalty. “When she comes home for Thanksgiving, Janelle must play nice with her brother and his new fiancée while confronting her own fears of identity and loneliness.” It’s a deeply human story about the difficulties an individual encounters when they have to confront their family or even confront themselves and their own identity. To make this film a reality, we’re asking you to lend us a hand in funding the different equipment, resources, and personnel we’re going to need to complete this project.

Mission Statement

This project is for everyone who has ever felt lonely amongst their own family, for those who have had trouble finding themself before they’re able to connect with others, for those who just want to be understood. The Table Between Us tackles these topics head-on, providing a way for people to comprehend what some individuals are currently struggling with.

Your Impact

Where your contribution will go:

Production costs: set design, lighting equipment, and actors.

Post-production: Hard drives and a colorist.

Festival campaigns and pitching: targeting top-tier festivals to launch the film.

Production

On set, our talented crew needs your contribution to provide them with the resources they need to create the best film possible. Our lighting team requires specialized lighting equipment to provide them with added control over the scenes and give them the edge they need to visually illustrate our story to the audience. Additionally, our actors will require compensation for their work.

Post-Production

Our post-production team is going to need your help to get proper equipment and crew. During post-production, we want our footage to be kept secure and organized, which requires costly hard drives. These hard drives will allow our post-production timeline to be smooth and organized. We also need the resources to compensate a colorist who will be able to bring out the vibrant color that will make our visuals pop.

Festivals and Pitching

Once The Table Between Us is complete, we will be sending it out to film festivals for more exposure and a larger base to launch it from. Film festival applications can be quite costly, and so we’ll need your contributions to be able to give our project the platform that we believe it deserves.
