Support The Sun: Keep Local Journalism Alive
Donation protected
For 25 years, The Anna Maria Island Sun has offered free print journalism to Island residents. We document the lives and stories of this community from the micro to the macro, from events like Little League and sports at The Center to breaking coverage of things like hazardous environmental spills and life-threatening storms. We preserve this community in print and bring it together in real time, sponsoring beloved events and traditions. With our award-winning stories available online, we also provide a way for the island's many seasonal visitors to stay connected.
A passion for local journalism brought Mike and Maggie Field together and inspired them to start this paper, shaping their lives and their family around the deep belief that Anna Maria Island deserves to have its stories told.
Just like many other businesses in our community, The Sun faces a crossroads in the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Your donations will help keep us in print while we recover from this storm and lay out new plans for the paper's future. We want to keep bringing you the news!

I am launching this fundraiser for my dad, Mike, and the staff at The Sun. All funds raised will go to staff's salaries and cost of operations for the upcoming editions of the paper.
