I'm raising funds for my best friend and her family. Melly has been hospitalized for an extended period. She called me on July 14th and said she had fallen and her legs didn't feel like they were working properly. She went to the ER and was told she only had a concussion and was discharged. The following day, she called me and said she had fallen again, hit her head, and couldn't get up. I brought her, Iggy, and Ivey (her fur babies) to her mom's and her condition worsened. She was taken to the hospital in Temple and the doctors said she has had 3 strokes. She doesn't have much control of her body from the waist down. She still has her long-term memory, but her short-term memory isn't functioning. She keeps thinking she's only been in the hospital for a day or two and is very confused as to where she is and what's going on in her life currently. So if you've received some confusing texts or updates about her health from her, please disregard them. She was transferred to a rehabilitation facility in Lakeway for physical therapy where she is currently. Donations will go directly to her mother, Maritza, who also lost her father during Melly’s time in the hospital and was unable to be with her family in Puerto Rico for his passing.
