Support the Stubblefields After Eaton Fire
Donation protected
My name is Kate Martin Rowe, and I am setting up this GoFundMe to support my dear friend Evan and her elderly parents who lost their home to the Eaton Fire in Altadena. Her brother had also recently relocated from San Diego with his family of four to live with her parents and help care for them as they age, and his family lost everything as well. It's difficult to imagine the magnitude of this loss and everything the Stubblefields and the larger community are going through as they grieve and make impossible decisions about how to move forward in the coming days.
Here is a word from Evan: "My parents' house sat in the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains for over fifty years. My folks were used to the wildfires and largely unfazed by them. Typically, if an evacuation was called, my family grabbed some clothes for a few days and the family dog and evacuated--and everything was fine when they returned. And so, this time when our mountain burned, they left behind the things that were irreplaceable: art and keepsakes from the places they visited around the world: Bahia, Egypt, Italy, Ghana; family photos of my great grandparents, of my grandparents, their wedding album; and my dad's art work, some were pieces he'd created more than 50 years ago. My brother's family lost irreplaceable pictures of their wedding, their children, keepsakes, many books, and other valuables. Now, my octogenarian parents are being asked to start over, and so is my brother's family, who were just beginning to settle into their new life in Altadena. My family very much needs support. If you're able to contribute, we would be so grateful."
