At Amanda's routine 20 and 24 week ultrasounds, the doctors could not visualize all of Gavin's heart, so they were referred to Texas Children's Hospital. On 11/20/2018, baby Gavin was diagnosed with a critical congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. This basically means that he is missing the left ventricle of his heart and will require several open heart surgeries in order to stay alive.

Amanda will be moving to Houston in early February to be at Texas Children's for Gavin's delivery later in February. She and Gavin will stay in Houston for an undetermined length of time (most likely at least 6 months) as he undergoes the first 2 open heart surgeries and the subsequent recovery. Jeremy and the boys will be traveling back and forth between College Station and Houston frequently to be with Amanda and Gavin.

These funds will help them pay the extensive medical bills, all the travel expenses involved with having your family in two places, and help pay for Amanda's health insurance while she is unable to work.
