Support the Sokoloff's After Devastating Loss

This winter has been tough on family farms across Central New York. The Sokoloff's, a young farming family in Western, has suffered an unimaginable loss. This winter’s relentless snowfall caused their barn to collapse, tragically taking two-thirds of their beloved herd. Two additional buildings and vital equipment were also severely damaged under the immense snow load. Working hours of overtime at full time jobs, then coming home to work endless hours trying to remove snow was no match for the devastating amount of snow and ice that has plagued this part of the state.

To make matters even more difficult, they are caring for their one-month-old infant while facing the heartbreaking reality that everything they’ve worked so hard to build is now gone. Farming isn’t just their livelihood—it’s their way of life, and this disaster has left them with little to rebuild from.

The community came together to help in their rescue efforts, with equipment, shovels and man power, but they still need our help as they are a long way from recovering what has been lost. We, a few of their friends, are putting together this fundraiser because we know they would never ask for money from anyone. They believe in helping others and would never ask anyone for a handout. Every dollar will go directly toward replacing lost animals, repairing damaged structures, and giving this young family a chance to start again.
