Friends and Family,
I humbly request your help. An incredible family was displaced from their home last night due to a fire in their roof. Thanks be to God, everyone made it out safely. This really could not have happened to a better group of people at a more difficult time. As the founders of A Bridge Between Us, the Sobolewski family have dedicated their lives after Nate's military service to helping veterans bridge the gap between military and civilian life through outdoor adventures. It's now our turn to lend a helping hand. Bridging the gap between military and civilian life through outdoor adventures. In addition, if anyone was in trouble, trust me when I tell you that this is the first family that would show up to help. Now its our turn.
"At about 0630 on Jan 20th Nate woke up to a crackling sound that was coming from around the fireplace chimney in their house at the SOBOS Residence near Scenic, South Dakota. He woke quickly, got all the girls awake and out along with their pets and Lexie and Lily called for help. Nate and Lexie tried to extinguish the fire, but it had gotten to far into the roof.
The Scenic VFD was the first on scene and battled the fire in frigid cold weather. (approximately -35 windchill)
Other local Fire and rescue agencies came to assist and by about 10 am they had the fire completely extinguished with no injuries to anyone. These were some extremely brave and cold First Responders/Firefighters that helped!
Unfortunately, the water that it took to put the fire out (3000 gallons+) did significant damage to Nate and Lexie's Home. They are unable to live in the house at this time due to the flooding/water/smoke damage to the house."
Nate and Lexie wouldn't ask for this help, so I am asking you to consider making a contribution to support this difficult transition. Please contribute what you can. Every dollar will help. If you can't donate, please reach out to Nate or Lexie to find another way to help. Trust me when I tell you, they would do the same for you. Thank you for your consideration.
