Help the Smith Family Find Stability and Hope This Holiday Season
Dear Friends,
The Smith family—Ryan, Alanna, and their four-year-old son, Evan—are facing an unimaginable crisis this holiday season. After three years of living with Ryan’s parents, they were abruptly locked out of the home without notice and left without safe, stable housing. Despite their efforts to negotiate a move-out plan, the family was forced into a legal battle, leaving them with just 30 days to vacate. Their deadline is January 3, 2025.
Ryan and Alanna have done everything in their power to protect Evan and keep their family afloat, but time is running out. Affordable housing in Toms River is scarce, and income-driven housing options have long waitlists. They’ve found a temporary winter rental a few towns away, but the high cost—combined with storage fees, moving expenses, and potential out-of-pocket costs for Evan’s therapy and services—has left them in dire need of support.
Why Your Help Matters
Evan’s well-being is at the heart of this plea for help. As a bright and sensitive child, he has struggled with anxiety due to the instability at home. Recently evaluated for an IEP, Evan is set to begin a new program in the Toms River school district on January 2. Moving him out of the district or disrupting his schooling at this critical time could be traumatic, adding to the challenges he’s already facing.
Alanna and Ryan are determined to provide Evan with a safe and nurturing environment where he can thrive, but they need your help to make it possible.
How Your Donations Will Be Used
Every dollar raised will go directly toward helping the Smith family cover:
Temporary housing costs for the winter rental
Storage fees for their belongings
Moving expenses
Therapy and developmental services for Evan
Basic needs like food and essentials
How You Can Help
This is a family in crisis, and every contribution—no matter the size—makes a difference. By coming together, we can give the Smith family a chance to rebuild their lives and provide Evan with the stability and care he deserves.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this campaign with others who might be able to help.
The Smith family is deeply grateful for your kindness, generosity, and compassion during this difficult time. Let’s show them the strength of our community and give them hope for a brighter future.
