- On Tuesday 1/7/25 our families received news no one wants to hear. My sister Brenda and my nephew Aidan were hit by a car while walking in the crosswalk to school only a block from their home in Minersville. We are extremely thankful because we know this could have been much more tragic but they have a long road ahead. My sister, Aidan's mom, has a bad hand injury. She has already had to go to the ER multiple times and will be set up to see a hand specialist due to continued swelling and pain. Aidan who is 8 years old suffered multiple fractures. He is in pain but putting on a brave face best he can. He is set to have surgery on his pelvis. He will then be wheelchair bound for 6-8 weeks if all goes well and will need to receive physical therapy. He is a very active kid and is bummed to be missing out on his basketball season and school. While he is hopeful to be back to school we are unsure if he will have to complete virtually at this time. Joe, Brenda, and Aidan have a great support system but they don't like to ask for help so we are doing it for them. Expenses are already piling up and they both have been missing work. If you cannot donate please pray for a smooth surgery and recovery for them both. They appreciate everyone's concerns and well wishes thus far.
