My name is Sr. Mary Joseph Calore, SSCJ and I am provincial superior of the Sister Servants of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in the United States.

On the night of March 25, 2026, our Sisters suffered a devastating electrical fire at our St. Joseph Convent located at 1872 Munster Road in Portage, Pennsylvania.

We are eternally grateful to our Merciful Lord, that our Sisters did not perish in this fire.

There is serious structural damage to the building, and loss of virtually everything in the Sisters' living quarters, with extensive smoke and water damage to the entire building and retreat facility.

We trust in God and we pray for helpers to rescue us from the mounting costs of recovery and restoration of this beauitful convent and retreat house.
