Support the Sirens - Women's BeepBall Team

Donation protected
Hello, I am Kasondra McDaniel, General Manager of the Sirens. The Sirens are a brand new BeepBall team this year. We are a BeepBall team made up of all women from all over the United States. We are looking to challenge everyone to be part of a matching funds donation. Mindseye has offered to donate up to $1500 of matching funds, so we could be blessed with a $3000 kick-off for our new team.

What is BeepBall? BeepBall is an adaptive sport for the visually impaired/blind athlete. BeepBall is like softball with a few differences, we field the ball without a glove, and we only have two bases. It is an amazing sport to play and watch. We have a team full of very brave and courageous women that want to be the first women's team to compete at the National Beep Baseball Association World Series this year. The NBBA World Series this year is in Norman, Oklahoma. We are a registered team and looking forward to competing. We must raise funds to support our team by buying equipment, uniforms, tournament travel, and fees. BeepBall because it is an adaptive sport has major expenses to just get started. So if you support our team in any way, where would the money go?

Equipment: Each handmade ball cost $35. Unfortunately during some games and practices teams go through half a dozen balls. The ball has electronic devices within them that serve as an audio beacon for blind players. Bases have a different audible tone than the ball. The base is triggered as soon as the ball contacts the bat. To score, players hit the ball and run and tackle a base. Maintaining the equipment can be challenging at times too. Each team must maintain at least two working base sets. A base set cost is $500.

Travel costs: Players have to attend practices, tournaments, and the World Series to be a competitive team. Teams travel to the World Series from all over the United States once a year, so they can compete against the best in the nation. Tournament fees, transportation expenses, and hotel costs can create a major financial burden for the team and the players.

We are seeking donations so that they can offset some of the financial burdens on individual players whose personal resources are often limited. We do not want to create a financial burden on our players that work so hard to compete. Our goal this year is to raise $12, 000.00 for the season. With your help and support we hope to reach our goal by June 30th before the deadline for the World Series final registration. We appreciate all donations. If you choose to donate and want tax documents, we can provide that as well. If you donate or not please explore what Beepball is all about on Facebook or YouTube. It is truly an amazing experience. We want to promote and support women and BeepBall. If you would like for us to come and present or demonstrate what BeepBall is, please contact us and we would love to show you.

Sincerely,
Kasondra McDaniel
