For the Simicsak Family
On September 9th at around 9 a.m., Doug Simicsak left for work like he did every morning, never imagining it would be his last. On the way, Doug was involved in a tragic car accident when his vehicle was struck on the driver's side. He was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, suffering from a broken hip, a clavicle injury, a punctured lung, and internal bleeding. Douglas fought through 5 hours of surgery, and the surgeons warned the family that he might not make it through the night. The next day, his organs began to fail, and his loved ones were forced to make the heartbreaking decision to remove life support. In an instant, the Simicsak family lost the man who held so much of their world together.
Doug was the main provider for his family and worked hard every day to keep them going. He leaves behind his wife of more than 40 years, who is in very poor health and can no longer drive or work, as well as disabled adult sons who need help with most daily tasks. Their home also includes three young granddaughters, ages 15, 12, and 11. Doug and I were the only ones able to work and keep up with the bills. With no savings and no life insurance, the family is now facing an overwhelming financial crisis on top of unimaginable grief. This fundraiser will help keep a roof over their heads, keep the lights on, and try to stop the home from going into foreclosure so the family can stay together, which is what Doug always wanted. Please, if you are able, donate to support the Simicsak family during this devastating time. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean so much and could help reach someone who can.
