Dear Durham, NC community and beyond,
The Silver Spoon Restaurant family is facing an incredibly difficult time after a shooting tragedy at their family-owned restaurant in Durham. One of the owners was tragically injured and is in critical condition. The family has been left to cope with both the emotional impact of this traumatic event and the financial strain that comes with it. As a family friend, I am organizing this fundraiser to help them through the days and weeks, and possibly months, ahead while they focus on healing and recovery.
Z and Sue and all of the Silver Spoon family have been a meaningful part of the local community for over 35 years, and now they need that same community to stand beside them. With the restaurant temporarily closed, the family is facing lost income while at the same time medical bills and recovery-related expenses are growing. Donations will help ease the burden of everyday costs, provide support for the injured owner’s medical care, and also contribute to helping their employees who are unable to work during this time while the family works toward reopening as Z fights toward a full recovery.
