Friends,

As many of you may know, our classmate and friend, Sharon Kohan, passed away unexpectedly last spring. Her loss has been deeply felt by everyone who knew her.

Sharon was one of the most accomplished athletes to come through Pascack Valley High School. She earned three varsity letters and went on to play Division I softball at the University of North Carolina. For many of us who grew up on the ball fields of Hillsdale, you may remember how she broke barriers as the only girl playing on the boys traveling teams - her determination and confidence inspired so many of us. She was a leader, trailblazer, and loyal friend.

To honor Sharon’s legacy, we are establishing the Sharon Kohan Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded each year to a Pascack Valley High School graduating senior athlete who:

• Played multiple sports at PV

• Plans to continue competing at the collegiate level

• Demonstrates leadership, character, and commitment

Our goal is to raise enough funds to provide a $1,000 scholarship each year for the next five years, supporting student-athletes who embody the same spirit, determination, and leadership that Sharon showed throughout her life. A portion of the donations will also be used to fund a memorial at PV in her honor.
