I'm Jonathan Shailor, Founder and Artistic Director of The Shakespeare Prison Project, a collaborative venture between the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, and the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

Since 2004, we have been providing incarcerated men with the opportunity to learn and grow through the study and performance of Shakespeare's plays. Participants develp their capacities for self-expression, self-awareness, communication, empathy, teamwork, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and other skills that will serve them well when they transition back to work, and to life in their communities.

To keep this work going, we depend on the support of donors like you. Your donations will help us to purchase scripts, obtain props and costumes, and reimburse theatre artists who work with us.
