Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

I am heartbroken to share that my sister-in-law, Marisol Nevarez, tragically lost her life in a car accident on Saturday, November 2nd. In the wake of this devastating event, we are reaching out for help for her children: Damien, Davyana, and Annalicia.

Following the accident, my nephew Damien was airlifted to Phoenix Children's Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for severe injuries, including a fractured pelvis and lacerations to his head and lip. He has undergone surgery to evaluate his internal injuries, and while he is currently stable, we are anxiously awaiting further updates.

My niece Davyana faces even greater challenges, with multiple fractures in her legs, collarbone, and jaw, as well as lacerations on her liver. She underwent surgery on Sunday and remains in critical condition. We are encouraged by her small responses, but there is a long road to recovery ahead.

Annalicia was examined and released with scrapes and bruises, but she too is grappling with the emotional toll of losing her mother in such a tragic way.

Damien Serna, the children's father, and Rosanna Serna, their stepmother, have been by the children’s sides in the hospital since this tragic incident occurred. They are doing everything they can to support and care for Damien and Davyana during this incredibly difficult time, all while traveling back and forth from their home, which is about four hours away from the hospital. The costs of fuel, meals, and rooms, and the extensive medical bills are overwhelming.

We are hoping to raise at least $5000 to help cover these medical expenses and to support the Serna family in managing travel and living costs as they care for Damien and Davyana during their recovery.
