I’m starting this fundraiser for a family that means a lot to me and to many people in our community. Right now their family is facing a sudden and incredibly difficult situation. Their dad was recently detained by immigration authorities, and they are working urgently to understand what options may exist while navigating significant legal challenges.

Many people in our local community know the Serna family through years of soccer, work, and friendship. They are known for their kindness, hard work, and the way they show up for the people around them. Their dad has always been someone who quietly works hard and shows up for his family every day. Seeing them go through this has been heartbreaking.

The legal process surrounding immigration detention can move quickly and often comes with significant and unexpected costs. I wanted to create this fundraiser so their family can focus on supporting their dad and exploring the legal options available without the added financial pressure.
