**Update**

A message from Nancy and Keith Higginbotham:

Our family is heartbroken to share that Weston's body was found by a volunteer search and rescue group in the mountainous area outside of Kyoto. We are devasted.

We have been overwhelmed with offers of help from around the world, and by your incredible generosity. We are focused on bringing our family home now.

We will not be accepting any new donations at this time. As soon as we are able, we will evaluate the most responsible path forward for utilizing your donations.

We thank you for your generosity, for your patience, and most of all for the prayers we know we will need in the coming days, weeks, months, and years.

Our community is coming together to support the ongoing search efforts for Weston Higginbotham, an Auburn University student who went missing while traveling in Japan.

Nancy, Keith, and Grayton remain in Japan working alongside local authorities and volunteers as search efforts continue. While official agencies are leading the investigation, additional local resources are needed to assist in search operations. These resources can include experienced guides, search personnel familiar with the terrain, transportation, equipment, and other services that may help support efforts to locate Weston. The costs associated with these resources can add up quickly.

This fundraiser has been established to help offset those search-related expenses and allow Weston's family to focus their energy where it belongs: bringing Weston home. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help provide support for search efforts and related local resources in Japan.

We remain hopeful and continue to pray for Weston's safe return. Thank you for supporting the Higginbotham Family and everyone working tirelessly to find answers.

Any funds remaining after search-related expenses have been paid will be donated to charitable organizations that support individuals and families during times of crisis.
