Our dear friend Brenna is currently facing every person's worst nightmare. Her boyfriend, Luis Javier Almanaz Emery (Luis), was reported missing on April 13th in the Philadelphia area. Since then, Brenna and Arturo (Luis’s brother) have been working tirelessly with local authorities to bring him home. On April 15th, Luis’s mother flew into Philadelphia to aid in the search for her son.
The emotional toll of this search is unimaginable, but the financial burden is also beginning to mount. Brenna and Luis’s family are currently unable to focus on work as they coordinate search efforts. Additionally, travel expenses and day-to-day bills, rent, and groceries are becoming a significant stressor.
Furthermore, to ensure every possible stone is turned over, they are looking to hire a private investigator to assist in the search. These specialized services are vital but come with high upfront costs.
We are asking for your help to cover:
- Private Investigation Fees: To provide dedicated, expert resources to the search.
- Daily Essentials: To cover rent, utilities, and food so Brenna and Luis’s family can focus entirely on finding Luis.
- Search Logistics: Funding for flyers, specialized equipment, and travel expenses.
Every dollar—no matter the amount—allows Brenna and Luis’s family to breathe a little easier and keep their focus where it needs to be: on Luis. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping them in your thoughts.
Luis’s last known location was Philadelphia City Hall and surrounding area between 8:30-9:15am on Monday, April 13th. There is evidence to suggest he made it back to his apartment (between 16th and 17th on South Street) after going to City Hall. His last text was sent at 9:54am and texts/calls ceased to go through beginning at 10:45am on Monday the 13th.
His last location shared on his phone put him near the Hilton Hotel on Christopher Columbus Blvd, however the search radius is large and it hasn’t updated since 10am on Monday.
Leads: If you have any information regarding Luis’s whereabouts, please contact the Philadelphia Police South Detective Division immediately. Head of Special Victims Unit, Sergeant James.
Thank you for your support, prayers, and generosity during this heartbreaking time.
