You know how cancer has this really nasty way of rearing its ugly head at the worst time and affecting the BEST people? Well...that's just what it did for our beloved Jen.

Jen, her hubby, Bryan, and their family recently left their home in Colorado and relocated to South Carolina, and wouldn't you know it?? Cancer decided to come right along. Very recently and unexpectedly, a large mass was found in Jen's abdomen and she was diagnosed with cancer of the small intestine. As of right now, the plan is to surgically remove the mass on October 3, then continue with an extensive treatment protocol for a year after to be sure that the Big C is officially evicted.

Needless to say, this is going to be a LONG and difficult process and a costly one at that. Though insurance will cover some of the necessary care, Jen and Bryan are looking at pretty hefty medical bills throughout the next 12 months or longer. Dr. Jen will be unable to work and Bryan is still in the process of healing himself after a traumatic brain injury, and will also need to be taking care of Jen and the fam.

They've got some family support to help with the kiddos and are building a new community in SC. However, the Sanford family still really needs us--the people who know and love them so dearly--to help out and soften the raw and rough edges around this intense journey.
